Color-Fear Not!

By Linda O’Koniewski

It is true that the adage for preparing your home for sale is to keep the color neutral; white or linen color walls are considered a “sure thing” for a sale. Our position is that neutral is better than loud and unusual colors. We suggest that the bedroom your teenager painted black back in the 1970’s might need a face lift. Neutral colors are better than black or lime, but don’t be afraid to be trendy. Buyers love the looks they see in a magazine, and if your house looks like the showcased properties in decorator magazines and show homes it will increase the value of your home. Call us to find out what colors are hip and why. We will let you know what colors are better for bedrooms and how to improve the look of the hallway. We can create miracles in your kitchen with paint! We will also help you avoid the pitfalls that some colors can bring to a home. To quote one of our very nicest clients who was touring in our car one day who looked up to see a white house with electric blue shutters, “Blue can be such a difficult color!” Let us take the difficulty out of preparing your house for sale.
